Digital Marketing Internship Opportunity

We’re looking for a team member who is ready to participate in hands-on execution of digital marketing programs and web merchandising in a fast-paced B2B e-commerce environment. This includes day-to-day work in deploying and monitoring promotional campaigns, data analysis and web site content management. The summer internship will run from June through August, 2015. Approximately 15 hours per week.

 

Support Demand Generation Efforts

Search Engine Marketing and Remarketing with Google and Bing

Social media campaigns including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linked In and YouTube 

Affiliate Partner program development

Use Data to Inform Decisions

Leverage Google Analytics to understand campaign performance and web site metrics – make recommendations to improve campaign and site performance

Perform competitive analysis and market surveys

Project Management and Solutions Design

Tackle a Search Engine Optimization improvement project (no code required!)

Create and publish content for e-commerce web site

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

Good understanding of database concepts and segmentation

Familiarity with internet technologies

Knowledge of HTML

Interest in direct marketing

Ability to formulate plans and report on results

Ability to work independently while also contributing as a cross-functional team member

Well organized with attention to details

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites

Activities will include:

 

Assisting customer in using our website to place orders or find pricing information

Answering questions regarding order status, delivery or questions about materials we offer

Answering phone and fax inquiries for quotes

Entering orders using our internal entry system

Successful transfer of larger-volume orders and inquiries to appropriate sales hubs within our parent organization

Resolving customer requests, questions and complaints – frequently requiring analysis of situations to determine the best use of resources

 

The ideal candidate will have:


2-5 years customer service or inside sales experience

A history of high quality customer service interactions

Sales driven and highly motivated

Detail oriented and work with a high degree of accuracy

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Experience in an environment with high volume call activity

Familiarity of iChat live with customers

Ability to tactfully handle stressful and difficult situations

A history of self directed work output, with emphasis on being able to manage multiple

simultaneous activities

A desire to join an organization where efforts result in immediate and tangible results for

themselves and the organization

Experience with MS Office applications

Experience with metals or distribution industries is a plus

Familiarity with lean practices/6S/ISO standards will be very helpful
