Stainless Tube - Round

Stainless Steel Round Tubing is generally used for structural purposes and applications that range from aesthetic to highly functional. Stainless tubing provides good corrosion resistance, weldability, machinability, and can be easily cleaned and sterilized.

SEAMLESS VS. WELDED

Seamless tube is extruded and drawn from a billet while welded tube is produced from a strip that is roll formed and welded to produce a tube. Welded tube is generally less expensive than seamless tube and is readily available in long continuous lengths. Typically welded tubes go through a deburring process that removes any excess weld material.  This process gives the welded tube a smoother, almost brushed finish look in most cases.

TUBE VS. PIPE

Tubes are structural. Tube is measured by the outside diameter (OD). Tubes are generally used for structural purposes.

Pipes are passageways. Pipe is measured by the inside diameter (ID). Pipes are generally used to transport gases or fluids.
