Known for its golden color, spectacular corrosion resistance, and strength, Muntz Brass C280 Sheet is commonly used as an architectural metal. It's color is similar to architectual bronze with a relatively lower cost. Brass C280 is stronger, harder and more ridgid than other forms of brass.
Brass C280, also called Muntz Metal or Yellow Metal, is a form of alpha-beta brass with about 60% copper, 40% zinc and a trace of iron. Muntz metal was original used as a less expensive replacement for copper sheathing on the bottom of boats, while maintaining the anti-fouling abilities of pure copper. Brass C280 continues to be a superior choice for marine applications.
