What's a Mill Test Report? (AKA: MTR or Material Test Report.)
It's a certificate that the mill gives to distributors like us, that confirms that the metal is what they say it is. They make it, and then test it to make sure it conforms to the following:- ASTM and ASME standards
- Specific Size, Shape, and/or Diameter specifications
- Chemical specifications.
- Proof of Origin
Certificate of Compliance: (AKA: Certs or C of C's.)
Some metals don't come with MTR's. Copper C110, for example. In that case, Metal Service Centers create their own "Certificate of Compliance" documents to stand behind the product, and confirm it is what they say it is. OLM is happy to provide these.
