Alloy Steel Rectangle/Flat Bar 4142 Prehardened, also known as Chromoly Steel, offers good strength, wear resistance, ductility, and excellent toughness. It does not require heat treatment but also has poor weldeability. 4142 is typically used for gears, shafts, spindles, fixtures, bolts, valves, sprockets, pistons, and collars in various high-stress and heavy-duty applications.
