Bronze Hollowbar SAE 863 Oil-Impregnated will finish to the stated dimensions. It is a high strength and wear resistant specialty bronze designed for bearings and other high speed, high temperature, and high friction environments. Through a unique manufacturing process, the bar effectively sweats oil when it heats up and is self lubricating. Once it cools down after work has stopped, it absorbs the oil back into the metal. The addition of iron to the alloy gives 863 higher strength and hardness than 841 oil-impregnated bronze. 863 is used for high speed machinery and hardware.
