Stainless Steel Angle 316/316L is a versatile angle shape commonly used for brackets, bracing, shelves, structural applications, architectural trim, and all types of fabrication where strength and superior corrosion resistance are required. Stainless 316, also known as marine grade stainless steel, provides particularly high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments while maintaining strength, durability, and workability. Type 316 stainless steel is extremely tough and ductile with excellent forming and welding characteristics and can be cold worked – roll form, swaging, cold headed, deep drawing, and bent.
Properties: excellent corrosion resistance, good oxidation resistance, high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, excellent durability, non-hardenable by heat treatment, solution treatment annealing, excellent weldability, excellent formability, forgeable, excellent toughness, ductile, cold workable, extremely low magnetic properties
Common Uses: architectural trim and molding, structural supports, construction material, framing, brackets, bracing, shelves
