Cold Finish Alloy Steel Normalized Air Melt Round Rod 4340 (0.75") is an ultra-high strength material that when heat treated exhibits great toughness, good ductility, and good fatigue strength. 4340 alloy steel is fequently used in aerospace as well as for piston pins, bearings, ordnance, gears, dies, and pressure vessels. 

This material is Cold Finished, Turned and Normalized.
