It is commonly used for electrodes in electrical-discharge machining of tungsten carbide and other dense materials, as well as for facings and insets in flash and butt welding dies, projection welding electrodes, and seam welding.
The 10W3 bar is more wear resistant than RWMA Class 10 bars because it contains a higher percentage of tungsten.
