Ecommerce Marketing Manager

Seattle, WA
OnlineMetals.com is looking for an e-commerce manager to join our growing OnlineMetals team. This person will lead our current marketing team, drive our marketing and brand strategies. You will own the channels and goals that drive awareness, engagement, and retention with customers. This role will also have the opportunity to define OnlineMetal’s CRM program along with managing our successful paid advertising, organic search, email, affiliate, social, and customer journey experiences.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and drive continued expansion with our paid and organic search channels. Partner and oversee our 3rd party agency, vendors, and internal teams to define and implement the short-term go-to-market plan and long-term roadmaps for these channels.
  • Bring the Onlinemetals.com site alive by driving a vibrant marketing editorial calendar in conjunction with the product teams to maximize the impact of product launches and promotions on the site. Develop a strategic content matrix in conjunction with marketing and design teams to optimize site merchandising opportunities.
  • Drive the marketing business requirements for implementing CRM and marketing automation solutions for Online Metals.
  • Direct the teams that run our email, social, content, optimization, and site design workstreams. Set career paths and ensure the success of each member of the marketing team.
  • Be a member of the OnlineMetals leadership team and provide strategic input and direction to critical business initiatives.
  • Develop a personalization strategy that delivers the optimal content to each user across every experience on the website.
  • Define, track, analyze, and report key marketing KPIs. Lead the marketing results discussion within Online Metals and to thyssenkrupp stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Strong team building, staff development, change management, and leadership skills. Have experience setting team goals and leading performance.
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools including Google Analytics or other platforms. Curious about the stories data can tell.
  • Proven experience driving performance-based digital channels such as SEO and SEM for an online business
  • Knowledge of CSS and HTML
  • Experience using CMS and personalization tools for e-commerce website
  • Strong writing and presentation skills and ability to represent the company to the public
  • Experience with site optimization and advanced analytics tools is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5+ years’ experience as a marketing manager for an online retailer or other online business
  • Marketing roadmap and content calendar experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications

With more than 15,000 unique products, our eCommerce site provides the perfect opportunity for an experienced merchandiser to blaze the trail that will help our customers by creating the optimal product discovery experience! This role will get to define the product category messaging strategies and be the bridge between the product details and the marketing promotions.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimize Category, Collection, and Listing Pages by aggregating, updating, editing, validating, and ranking content for customer experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the U.S. and abroad on product promotions and website updates.
  • Ensure marketing editorial calendar is planned to support product launches and promotions.
  • Craft accurate & meaningful product descriptions, positioning and promotion/merchandising messaging that fits with the brand and connects with buyers.
  • Develop a personalization strategy that delivers the optimal content to each user across every experience on the website.
  • Create A/B tests; track, measure, and optimize all merchandising campaigns to continuously improve the shopping experience and identify opportunities to optimize conversion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting customer in using our website to place orders or find pricing information
  • Answering questions regarding order status, delivery, or questions about materials we offer
  • Answering phone and fax inquiries for quotes
  • Entering orders using our internal entry system
  • Successful transfer of larger-volume orders and inquiries to appropriate sales hubs within our parent organization
  • Resolving customer requests, questions, and complaints - frequently requiring analysis of situations to determine the best use of resources

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Sales driven and highly motivated
  • Detail-oriented and work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in an environment with high volume call activity
  • Familiarity with live chat on an e-commerce site
