Acetal is a thermoplastic made from POM (polyoxymethylene) resin and is a popular option for replacing parts that are traditionally machined from metals. Its physical properties remain unchanged in a variety of environments and in temperatures up to 180°F. Acetal is also known for its high tensile strength, rigidity, impact and solvent resistance, glossy molded surface, and low static/dynamic coefficents of friction. Acetal is commonly used for high speed conveyor lines, bearings, gears, food service applications, valves, and manifolds.
