Galvanneal steel is created using a similar process to Galvanized steel. The sheet first goes through the galvanizing bath to receive the zinc coating, Galvanneal then goes through an additional process of annealing which gives the material a zinc-iron alloy coating making it harder and more scratch resistant than galvanized material. The difference of Galvanneal vs Galvanized is that Galvanneal can be painted after the fabrication process and has excellent corrosion resistance. This makes it ideal for applications including automobiles where long-life is important, highway signs, computer chassis, vending machines, garage doors, and more.
