This filament is made from stainless steel grade 316L, containing 80-85% metal with a density of 3.5g/cc. It is a low carbon alloy suitable for producing fully sinterable metal parts.
This filament is compatible with any open-architecture Fused Filament Fabrication 3D printer and even 3D printing pens. It requires a 0.6mm hardened steel nozzle and a Filawarmer for optimal printing.
Yes, it prints similarly to regular PLA with minimal warping. However, it is less hygroscopic than PLA and should not be dried using filament dryers, as drying can adversely affect the filament.
This filament is ideal for aerospace and automotive research, prototyping, short-run manufacturing, and one-off metal parts, helping eliminate tooling and machining costs.
