It offers higher strength and corrosion resistance than most other bronze alloys due to the addition of aluminum and iron. 954 is one of the most popular general purpose bronzes and excels at metal to metal wear resistance. All forms of brazing an welding other than oxyacetylene are rated as good. It is typically used to make bearings, valves, pumps, various gears and fastening hardware a machine parts.
