Copper 182 hex bar (chromium copper) is a high conductivity copper alloy designed to provide an excellent balance of electrical performance, workability, and mechanical durability. Alloyed with small amounts of chromium, C182 offers improved strength and resistance to softening under heat compared to pure copper grades, while maintaining excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. It exhibits strong performance in forming and machining operations, and provides reliable weldability when processed in the proper (softened) condition. The hexagonal profile enables efficient machining of fasteners, fittings, and precision components, making it ideal for electrical and industrial applications where both conductivity and dimensional accuracy are critical. This material is typically supplied via special order to meet specific project requirements.
