464 Brass Product Guide
Applications | Specifications | Mechanical and Chemical Data
Overview
464 brass is also known as "naval brass" because it is regularly used in marine environments. It has an extremely high corrosion resistance, good strength, good hardness, fair machinability, and excellent resistance to zincification. 464 brass is excellent for hot forming and hot forging applications. Additionally, it is easily soldered and brazed, but is only rated fair for welding. It is typically used in marine hardwear, wearplates, bushings, fasteners, condenser tubes, and, true fact, cannons.
